The Elves are nearly immortal with lifespans ranging up to near 2500 years. Their armies are usually not clad in heavy armor, but their skill and agility more than makes up for that lack of armor. High Elf mages are among the best users of magic in the world. With all of their military and magic skill, the High Elves typically behave very arrogantly. After all, they are the best.
The High Elves have been loose allies with the Empire and Dwarfs for a very long time. With the threat of Chaos on the Empire's doorstep, the High Elves are ready to assist their allies, but will have to deal with their arch-enemies, the Dark Elves, first.
