Warhammer Info - Articles - WANTED: A Guild UI That Doesn't Suck Eggs
Guild user interfaces in MMOs have evolved over time. From straight slash commands in Everquest to ... uh... Yea, guild UIs need some major work. And WAR is the MMO that should set the standard.
General ScreenIf you can find it on the Herald, you should be able to find it in game. All of your regiment's stats in one spot. If you need additional stats, just pop up a window and search away.
Members ScreenTime to expand on the "/who guild" command. Quickly see what level the regiment slacker is now or who's got the most Renown Points. Click the dialogue bubble icon and send someone a tell or if they're offline, send the message straight to their mailbox. Click the book icon to view a player's Tome of Knowledge - if it's grayed out, they don't want to share their Tome. Promote, demote, or kick out unruly soldiers by simply highlighting their name and then clicking the appropriate button.
This screen should also show location and online status, but I got lazy.
Crafting ScreenNeed some armor made? Just look at the crafting screen. If people want to help out your lame no-crafting arse, they'll flag themselves as Looking For Work. If they don't want anything to do with you, the shop will be closed for business and you're probably on their Ignore list.
Events ScreenWhat day did I hit Renown Rank 7? Just look in the damned log!
Rank Admin ScreenCreate and modify regiment ranks and permissions on the fly.
