What are the system requirements for Warhammer Online?
There haven't been any requirements set in stone yet, but we do know that WAR will not be DirectX 10 exclusive - so a DX10 compatible video card is not yet necessary. Beyond that, it's hard to say. Warhammer doesn't look to be much more demanding than DAOC at this point and the game is being optimized for large battles. A 256MB video card will more than likely get the job done.
I'm going to upgrade my machine for WAR - what should I buy?
With Warhammer so far away, you're best off saving your money for now. Eight months from now, prices will drop substantially and you'll be able to get much more gaming goodness for your $$$$$. When the time does come around and if you know how to build a computer, New Egg is widely reputed to be one of the best hardware vendors on the web in terms of both price and service. I've purchased computer junk through them zillions of times and am yet to have a problem.

- Apply in the Guild beta (now closed - unknown how many will be handed out - winners announced in June)
- Attend a gaming convention (50 handed out per event)
- Sign up for the Newsletter (5 handed out per month)
- Solve Paul Barnett's Video Blog puzzle that is impossible to solve
- Be an EA/Mythic employee
Potential ways to get in the beta in the future:
- Pre-order the game
- Have an active subscription to DAOC
- Beta-tested or did extensive testing in DAOC
- Various contests through Mythic and (perhaps) even WAR fansites
